Easy Popcorn Valentine Gift with Printable Pennant Flag

Posted on January 5, 2023October 6, 2023

Looking for a quick and fun Valentine gift idea? Your girl here at Project Whim has got you covered. This idea isn’t new to the blog, but it does have a new look. My “You Make My Heart POP” printable gift tags have been a very popular buy in the Etsy shop. Since my printable pennant flags seem to be a hit too it felt natural to combine the two together and give y’all 2 different options when it comes to this adorable popcorn valentine gift idea.

Here is how I put together this cute and yummy gift idea for Valentine’s Day this year. But first, make sure you check out how I used it last year by CLICKING HERE.

What you need:

  • Popcorn Box
  • Variety of candy
  • Popcorn Kernals
  • Printable Pennant Flag

How to put this Popcorn Valentine Gift Together

First start by taking your popcorn box. You can find plastic ones at the dollar store or really cute paper ones for Valentine’s Day here. Fill your popcorn box with a few valentines themed candies. I used conversation hearts and some delicious red velvet coated almonds. Then add your popcorn. You can do a bag of microwaveable popcorn or add kernels to a clear bag and tie with a ribbon (that is what I did). To finish your gift with some WHIM, add this crazy adorable printable Valentine Pennant Flag that reads “You Make My Heart POP”. Keep reading below for the easy step by step guide to making pennant flags.

How to Make Valentine Pennant Flags

  • Printed flags on cardstock. Check out the variety of adorable, printable Valentine Pennants HERE
  • Bamboo skewers or thin dowel rods
  • Krazy Glue or Hot Glue
  • Valentine Ribbons

Print out your pennant flags on cardstock and cut out. On the back of your flag apply a line of Glue. I prefer Hot Glue, but you can use super glue as well. Then take your bamboo skewer and press and hold onto the glue line for about 10 seconds. Next step is to grab some fun ribbons. I wanted mine to look eclectic so I used a bunch of different fun types of ribbon. Take 3 to 4 ribbons and tie to the bottom of your flag. Secure with a little bit of Glue to hold it in place.
