Adding WHIM to your Home this Winter | DIY Diffuser Hack

Posted on November 11, 2021December 4, 2022

And the Must Have Winter Oils to Try this Holiday

Once November hits, I am all about the magic of Christmas. I love setting up our holiday decorations. They make the home feel so cozy and magical. Ever since I shared the DIY Pumpkin Caldron (make sure to check that post out), I had the idea to do something similar for Christmas time. I loved the idea of hiding an essential oil diffuser in something. You get the soft glowing light and the dreamy mist floating into the air. The pumpkin caldron with so adorable for fall and I had THE PERFECT thing for Christmas. This is how I added WHIM to my home for the Holidays with my DIY diffuser hack.

How to make the Diffuser Hack for The Holidays

Last year I bought an adorable House shaped lantern. It was a large, metal lantern in the shape of a house. It had windows and a chimney and I knew it would be the most magical thing to use for my diffuser hack. Don’t get me wrong, I love displaying my diffusers but this was going to be too fun for the Holidays.

I took this metal house lantern and placed my diffuser inside. I love this particular diffuser for this hack. It is small but puts out a TON of mist! It glows (with many different color options) and has a few different timer options. I loved this diffuser so much that I purchased 3 more to give as Christmas gifts and to use in another room of our house. Scroll further down for the link to this diffuser.

I pulled the power cord through one of the windows in the back of the lantern and ta da! Its a house that glows from the inside and has “smoke” coming up from the chimney! Isn’t that magical?

I loved this hack so much that I immediately took the girls diffuser and did the same idea in their room. It fits perfectly in this ceramic Bell Tower Lantern and is only $15! It is absolute perfection yall! The girls love this in their room as their nightlight.
