Mommy-Daughter Slumber Party | How to Throw a Sleepover Party They Will Never Forget

Posted on March 9, 2022October 7, 2023

My kids always get excited when someone in the family is about to have a birthday. Well, it was my birthday coming up and they kept asking “What are we doing for your Birthday?” I didn’t really have any plans. One night when I was lying in bed an idea popped up in my head. “What if I did a slumber party with the girls? I bet they would love that!” So, we had a Mommy-Daughter Slumber Party, and it was the most fun EVER!

There is something special and comforting about getting the chance to sleep in Mom and Dad’s Bed. This slumber party was going to be in my room. We did our slumber party on a Friday night. While the girls were in school, I decorated my bedroom. I tried to recreate a canopy over my bed with all white balloons. I also grabbed a bunch of cozy blankets and pillows and threw them on the bed. Changing the space up just enough that they would feel it was special.

Setting Up for the Mommy-Daughter Slumber Party

On the bed, I laid out their bath robes and a tray of different nail polish colors and some facemasks. We were going to have the ultimate girly time. I later added a tray of treats and chocolate covered strawberries that we could snack on while we watched a movie.

For food we made our own pizzas for dinner (with dad and brothers help). The girls had so much fun making their own pizzas. It was a nice way to spend time as a whole family before us girls whisked away to the bedroom for ladies-only fun. After dinner the three of us went upstairs and locked the door. We giggled, we ate snacks, we watched a really cute movie that none of us had ever seen (Movie was Yes Day on Netflix). After our movie and nail painting it was time for bed. It took the girls some time to fully wind down from all the excitement and sugar.

It was such a fun night, that I can’t wait to do it again. What I love about this slumber party is you don’t have to wait for a special occasion (like a birthday). You can pick a random night and turn it into a WHIMsical good time that your kids will never forget!
